Gupta: ‘I am doubling down’ on medical marijuana – CNN

Dr. Sanjay Gupta, the lead medical correspondent on CNN, has written another piece advocating for medical marijuana. In the piece he writes:

I am more convinced than ever that it is irresponsible to not provide the best care we can, care that often may involve marijuana. I am not backing down on medical marijuana; I am doubling down.”

Gupta, who was previously against medical marijuana, made a notable change in his beliefs 8 months ago with a piece titled “Why I Changed My Mind on Weed.”

FDA Moves Forward With Marijuana-Based Drug To Fight Childhood Epilepsy – The Huffington Post

Orphan drug designation for a cannabis-based drug developed to treat childhood-onset epilepsy has been granted by the FDA. This means that the maker of the drug must demonstrate effectiveness in clinical trials. This is a huge step forward towards better access to proper care for those who need it.
