CannaYoga Series: High Plank

It’s the beginning of a brand new year, and California is an adult-use state! With this solid combination, our New Year’s resolution this year is to find new ways to enjoy our two favorite wellness activities – cannabis and yoga!

Cannabis yoga classes are popping up across California, so we asked our resident Goddess Delivers yoga teacher – Lauren from CannaYoga – to break down some common postures and products that compliment each.

This week, we’re getting some core work in with High Plank (cue the obvious puns). Many poses in yoga are reliant on a strong core, so what better pose to start with! If you’re new to yoga, work into this slowly – modifications are highly encouraged; it means you’re in tune with your body and its needs for that day.

To modify, come down to your knees, and hold for as long as your breath will allow. Breathing should be natural and full; any time you notice yourself holding or struggling with sharp inhales and exhales, come out of the pose and ground down.

Since this pose is activating, some great products to accompany this are Sativa-dominant strains and a dose of CBD to remain clear-headed and focused.

The first on our list is Subtle Tea’s Sencha Green Tea. What better combo than yoga, cannabis, and tea? Sencha Green has 40mg THC, so depending on your tolerance, the effects could last well into your day! Not only that, but the caffeine from the green tea will energize and balance you – the perfect addition to some high planks!

If concentrates are more your style, Vapura’s CO2 cartridges pair perfectly with an energizing yoga sequence. These oils come with the plant’s natural terpenes still in tact, and are solvent-free, too. If you want to stay clear-headed, we recommend Mango Haze, their CBD cart. And, to make things even better, we’re having a CBD sale till 1/11, with 20-30% off select products!

If you’re looking for a post-workout treat to soothe sore muscles, HerbGenix is a great option for you. They’re the first brand to combine science-backed supplements with THC and CBD to both enhance your workouts and recover from them. We are loving their topical – Soothe – which is packed with pain-relieving, organic ingredients like turmeric oil, CBD, and Arnica.

Be sure to keep an eye out of our weekly yoga videos; a new pose each time!
