CannaYoga Series: Downward Dog

Downward dog is found in almost every style of yoga, and has many benefits to it. This week, CannaYoga breaks down the pose so you can practice some cannabis-enhanced yoga in the comfort of your home!

Down dog helps to stretch your shoulders, hamstrings and calves while strengthening the arms and legs. It’s typically used at a resting posture during the practice, much like Child’s Pose – although Child’s Pose is more restorative and relaxing, and Down Dog is engaging.

Some great flower options to go with this pose are Tangie, Super Lemon Haze, and Lamb’s Bread, all of which are sativas and help to energize and invigorate you.

Be sure to listen to your body and breath in each pose – just like with edibles, ease into it slowly! If you notice your breath becomes labored or you’re holding it, that is a sign to come out of the pose and explore a modified version.

Once done with Downward Facing Dog, come back to table top then take Child’s Pose if that feels right in your body.
