Ganja Guac for Cinco de Mayo!

Looking to make this Cinco de Mayo especially festive? Love guacamole? Who doesn’t! We’ve combined two of our favorite green-things, avocado and cannabis, for an infused guacamole recipe that’s sure to please!

Thanks to our friends at Herb for this special recipe!

Ganja Guacamole

Ingredients

2 large ripe avocados, peeled and seeded
Juice of 2 medium limes
4 teaspoons cannaoil (see recipe below!) OR 1 teaspoon Ganja Goddess Oil mixed with 3 teaspoons non-medicated olive oil
1⁄2 small red onion, diced
1⁄4 cup finely chopped cilantro leaves
1⁄2 teaspoon kosher salt
1 small tomato, seeded and chopped (optional)

Method

  1. In a medium bowl, mash the avocado.
  2. Add all the other ingredients and mix thoroughly.

TIP:  To keep your guac from turning brown, drizzle it with citrus juice and press plastic wrap snugly into its surface (this limits the oxygen exposure that leads to browning).

Cannaoil Recipe

Ingredients

6 cups olive oil
1 ounce cannabis buds, finely ground, or 2 ounces trimmed leaf, dried and ground
-OR-
For those who are short on time, use 1 teaspoon Ganja Goddess Oil with 3 teaspoons non-medicated olive oil. Voila!

Method

In a heavy saucepan (or a double boiler), slowly heat oil on low heat for a few minutes. You should begin to smell the oil’s aroma. Add a little bit of cannabis to the oil and then stir until it is fully coated with oil. Keep adding more cannabis until the entire amount of cannabis is mixed into the oil. Simmer on low heat for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.Remove the mixture from the heat and allow it to cool before straining. Press the cannabis against a metal strainer with the back of a spoon to wring all the oil out of it. The oil is best stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 months. Throw the leftover cannabis in the compost.
