Flower of the Week: Slymer

11 Oct

Slymer is our Flower of the Week for good reason: these frosty, dense nugs pack a Sativa-dominant punch! Featuring citrusy-lime notes, this strain is a phenotype of Chernobyl – a cross of Trainwreck, Jack the Rippes, and Trinity.

If you’re looking for a relaxing, mood-boosting strain that’s good for pain, anxiety, depression, and nausea, look no further than Slymer!

Mackenzie Medicinals Product Highlight

26 Sep

Tinctures are gaining in popularity amongst cannabis consumers, both medically and recreationally – and for good reason!

Tinctures are an effective and healthy alternative to smoking, vaporizing, or eating edibles, and can easily be mixed into juices, teas, most food, or just taken under the tongue. They are quickly absorbed, too – affects can be felt as soon as 15 minutes after ingestion.

Tinctures are liquid extracts made from herbs, and come in both alcohol-based and non-alcohol options (olive oil, coconut oil, vegetable glycerin, etc.) They’ve been used for many years by holistic practitioners, as it’s very simple to infuse the herb of your choice for a potent remedy. The cannabis industry quickly caught on and the market now has some amazing options for consumers.

We recently got two tinctures in from Mackenzie Medicinals: a 20:1 and a 1:1 CBD to THC ratio. William and Gail, the creators of these lovely products, started developing their tinctures soon after William was diagnosed with basal cell carcinoma. They explored their options, and found that cannabis helped immensely in his recovery. Ever since they have been sharing their passion with others.

I started my morning recently with a few drops of the 1:1 in my tea. The dosage is 10mg per ml, so being a lower-tolerance consumer, I decided to start smaller than suggested. The taste is amazing and so simple: subtle hints of cannabis detected in this coconut-oil blend. Typically, edibles and tinctures hit me fast, so after about 20 minutes, I started feeling it: my body was a little tingly and relaxed, and as time went on, these affects heightened. Later that afternoon, I took a few more drops, and ended up sleeping like a baby that night – which is rare for me!

Mackenzie Medicinals’ 1:1 blend is great for people who want pain-relieving and anti-anxiety benefits with less of the psychoactive side-affects.

If you’re looking for all-organic, oil-based tinctures, be sure to give Mackenzie’s Medicinals a try.

REVIEW: Rick Simpson Oils

18 Feb

cannanector

The Goddess Delivers has two versions of the Rick Simpson Oil: Canna Nector Honey Oil and Pharmaceutical Grade CBD oil.

Made with the same CO2 extraction process, Canna Nector contains no chemicals, fillers, or traces of butane that are side effects less optimal extraction methods. At high pressures, CO2 grabs hold of the medial properties from the plant and extracts them. Once returned to room pressure, it evaporates completely back into a gas, leaving the cannabinoids behind without residue.

It is a simple and clean option.

This all natural cannabis nectar comes in an applicator to refill vapor pens with minimal spillage or waste. It is a good choice for patients who want an effective and low effort medication.

For patients who want a heavier CBD medicated effect, try our CBD oil.

Our new Pharmaceutical grade CBD oil has 19.49% CBD, 20.77% THC, and .87% CBN. This is a great ratio with a lower THC count than other oils on the market which makes it a perfect option for patients who want to minimize the psychoactive effect of their medication.

REVIEW: Platinum OG – Pain Relief without Sleepiness

6 Feb

PlatinumOG2-6-14

Our new Platinum OG is a delicious Indica with a gentle yet powerful touch.

Overview

With a THC content that regularly checks in at over 20%, this smooth strain is considered one of the heaviest on the market. It also allows you to stay awake to enjoy it. Unlike other Indicas, Platinum OG doesn’t make you sleepy. It provides all of the relaxation and pain relief euphoria without the slumber.

Taste

Platinum OG is tasty.

Along with the expected OG overtones, this strain has a rich, sweet Indica flavor with subtle hints of wood, like a rich coffee on a cold night.

Genetic

Platinum OG is another that doesn't have firm records of genetic descent, however it does have internet rumors of having Master Kush, OG Kush, and a hint of Purps in its breeding. Now Master Kush has some Skunk #1 in it's past, so if that is true that means that Platinum OG is not a 100% pure Indica strain. That hint of Sativa might be what makes this strain ideal for conscious pain management rather than a sleep aid.

Medical

Patients report that Platinum OG is medically ideal for migraines, hyper tension, ADD/ADHD, carpel tunnel, anxiety relief, and arthritis.

It is a great appetite booster and anti-nauseant so this strain would be ideal for patients going through chemotherapy who want to stay present.
